Hello all. I am running the blackbox with my cnc router. It has always connected fine, but my cpu crashed. I got another cpu win10 and have installed the latest version of openbuilds controller.
When I go to connect the the USB port, I only get com1 as an option. I get error “no supported firmware detected”
I changed the communication port in device manager to different com ports (3 and 4) and I simply get port error file not found.
No wiring has changed for when it previously worked with old cpu.
In device manager, I have a yellow exclamation mark in front of the ft232r usb uart. Although it popped up and said it was setup successfully when I plugged in the serial cable. I have tried all of the USB ports on the cpu. What should I do?
    Thanks!

COM1 is the motherboards onboard serial port, not the BlackBox, thus it cannot connect to it

See the BlackBox Documentation > Install Device Drivers (Section 4.1 and don't forget to do Section 4.2 as well) > docs:blackbox:start [OpenBuilds Documentation]

    Awesome! Thanks!
Just out of curiosity, why do you disable the selective suspend of tbe usb settings in the advanced power tab?

    Thanks!

Because Windows will turn off the usb port if it thinks it's not being used, disconnecting your control software from the blackbox - it can do that in the middle of a job.
    Alex.
