So I just wired my Blackbox controller to my cnc using OpenBuilds limit switches and motors... the first thing I tried to do was home my machine and the stepper motors will click but not move.... It looks like my limit switches are wired correctly. When I press them a red led light comes on so I suspect they are working properly. But... The bottom line is no movement on any axis. Just a click like the motor is locked. Thoughts or suggestion?
Did you remember to load a machine profile from Grbl Settings tab in CONTROL > Select machine from the list > Save and reset when prompted
No Peter I did not... Where in the documentation does it run me through all that? I can't find it. Is it under Software? If I can find the area that walks me through the setup and settings I can do this myself. That's the part I'm missing.
Each of our machine kits has a Wiring and Software Video on YouTube. Which machine do you have? Super easy though: CONTROL > Grbl Settings tab > Select machine from the list > Save and reset when prompted
Okay so I checked the list and not surprising the UB wasn't on the list... So I'm assuming I have to fill all that information out for my machine parameters. Correct? Is there info. somewhere in the documentation that would walk me through that process?
Start with the CUSTOM option so it sets the critical parameters for you, then customize from there. Basically steps per mm, acceleration and max rate. The Grbl Wiki explains these in great detail: github.com/gnea/grbl/wiki
