I just changed computers and added control to the new computer. This is for my cnc router that is using a blackbox. I was able to cut and it worked close to like it did before, but each time a job would end, My coordinates on the DRO would change to some crazy wild number 846855 (something like that). I tried changing some settings and got it all out of whack. I had to recalibrate and everything. Now, anytime I click "set zero" I get an error. "eeprom read failed. reset and restored to default. G10 P0 L20 X0 Y0 Z0" What is going on? Thanks!
EEPROM failure can accompany a failing microcontroller, and that in turn - is usually an indication of electrical damage (shorted V+ to GND, reverse fed an output, overloaded a signal pin, etc) You can try a full EEPROM reset (buttons in CONTROL > Grbl Settings > menu bar along the top) but it might well be a physical problem
That doesn't sound good!! I don't know why changing computers would have effected it? I actually did an EEPROM reset that is the reason I had to recalibrate everything. Should I try again? No wiring has changed at the blackbox or controller. Only a change from on cpu to another. Thanks
Receiving the same message: #7 EEPROM read failed. Reset and restored to default values. [G10 P0 L20 X0 Y0 Z0 ] Recently I purchased a xyz zero Probe and upon installing it I inadvertently wired it wrong, but I believe I have corrected that problem. When I attempted to run the probe wizard the probe came down and hit the probe and stopped. Iam not sure if this is causing my current problem which is, I am now receiving an error code #7 EEPROM read failed. Reset and restored to default values. [G10 P0 L20 X0 Y0 Z0 ] I did receive an assist email but I am unsure as to what to do or how to proceed. Currently when I try to send the router to XYZ zero the router proceeds to the middle of my work piece instead of my set zero. (which upon starting a project it wants to start in the middle of my work piece. Please help !! Rocco Cordato III [email protected]
