Quick easy question: i see when usb cable is unplugged, the aux1 header becomes active..

Just to clarify before breaking anything: i can wire a usb connection to aux1? Its basically another socket on the same wires?

I ask because i would prefer a low profile plug on the usb cable, rather than the fat moulded plastic usb plug.

Not all al no. AUX is 5v TTL serial (not USB) for use with an Interface:
    See docs:interface:connect-blackbox [OpenBuilds Documentation]

That would definitely be better.. Was hoping to avoid bying a new cable, i have a really nice chunky screened one with ferrites, which i have already cut and spliced (very neatly i might add) so it can enter my control box. The long plug does bug me though!
