Hi, This might have been asked before but I am having trouble with jogging X+, it moves ok with X- as do all the other axis, I have checked all the wiring everything ok, I plugged the X axis motor into the Y axis and jogged that it worked fine, anybody got any ideas before I contact ooznest (UK Supplier) TIA

What exactly does/doesn't it do? :)

    • Not moving at all in the X- direction?
    • or moving X+ when you click X-
    • or not reacting at all
    • or shaky in place

Was the stepper motor wiring done by you or supplied by Ooznest? If the latter check the crimp connectors - I have had crimps broken within the plastic housing and only making intermittent contact.
    Alex.
Oh, and don't hesitate to contact Ooznest - they will be happy to help.

Hi Peter, Hi Alex, its not moving in the X+ direction at all aand all wiring was done by me, the motor runs and moves in both directions if I plug it into the Y or Z socket! but nothing will move in the X+ Direction!

If nothing at all happens, it could be settings related (or something like a wrongly wired endstop, and the controller is preventing from running "deeper into the endstop" (although its not near, it could be falsely detected as triggered due to a wiring fault) - check the Troubleshooting tab (feel free to post screenshot if you want us to take a look)

What happens if you set $3=1(invert X direction) - does the X jog + but not -?
    Alex.
EDIT - should have said check what $3 is first. Check out gnea grbl configuration page for explanation of how that works if you don't already know. gnea/grbl

OpenBuildsCONTROL avoids all the mask calculation / lookup table drama:

Hi Alex yep if i invert the motor it just goes in the opposite direction, not the other! so i know its not a faulty motor!

That test was a good test to shakedown the hardware, as it proves the chip can flip the driver's DIR signal, and the driver functions in both directions, so check your Troubleshooting tab in CONTROL, screenshot and lets see if any of the inputs are wired wrong
