Hey, I have intermittent motor failures for the Y2 motor with the blackbox. Here‘s what‘s happening even during regular jogging. As I‘m still struggling to get my Lead 1010 straight, I don‘ really cut anything yet. - everything works fine for a while - right y motor stops while the other continues (bending the gantry), no error indication (for example red warning light) - switch off blackbox - straighten y - switch on blackbox - things work again (for a while) I have checked my cabeling, measured wires, checked terminal blocks on plugs etc. Can‘t find anything. Any idea what might be the reason or what else I could check? Thanks...
That really does sound like one intermittent connection on the stepper motor wiring - see docs:blackbox:faq-identify-motor-coils [OpenBuilds Documentation] Alex.
Hi Alex, indeed that was also my first guess which is why I did check the wiring. I have built a few 3D printers so I know my way around steppers. I‘m confident that I have identified the coils correctly and I can‘t find any problems with the cables.
Turn the current down a bit, the "after a while" still sounds like overheating. Power cycle clearing fault too. Fan is spinning?
We have almost same problem Y2 gives error as soon we connet engine. We also switch Y1 with Y2 at the box and the error i on Y2.
If it only errors when you connect the motor: See docs:blackbox:currentadjustment [OpenBuilds Documentation] Fault raised by the motor (pulling too much current, short circuit in wiring) as it appears when you connect a motor NB! Never connect/disconnect motors with the power on (as warned against in the documentation as well)
