Hey guys, it's my first post. Hopefully I'm in the right section. If not, I'm sorry! Some weeks ago I made a big mistake and ordered a Bulkman3D 'workbee' 1515. Assembly was ok for the most part beside some bend screws and rough milled ACME nut blocks. I swapped these for genuine ones. The bundle came with a chinese Novusun Nvum Mach3 v2 controller, nema23 motors, TB6600 4A 40V stepper drivers and a 2.2kw watercooled spindle which is overkill for this setup. Now that all is set up, I can run the y-axis only at around 40-50mm/s otherwise the left y-axis motor side gets stuck and bends. Later I found out that also the x-axis gets stuck and the motor blocks at highers speeds. If I disconnect the motors, all axes run smoothly. As the Novusun controller seems to be buggy I already ordered a Openbuild Blackbox which will hopefully arrive in a few days. I used the shielded cables that came with the bundle for motor wiring. May these cause the strange behavior of the motors or do you have any tips what else I can check? Maybe the motor-settings are wrong? Which parts should be changed for original ones and which can I keep? Here's also a video of the y axis blocking: https://drive.google.com/file/d/16ahHwFteHg7oKFGUqnPR7Wo0_rXOr7gT/view?usp=sharing Thanks for your help and greetings from germany, Bastian.
BM motors are high inductance, which limits top speed. But play with the Acceleration values, may be able to use them (Conservatively) when the BlackBox arrives
thanks for your reply. BM told me to set the acceleration value to 1000mm/s which is far beyond what I've now set. I also found out that the motors also block without any leadscrew mounted @60-70mm/s. Hope that the BlackBox will help.
Should be slightly better, but ultimately you may end up having to replace several components with the real deal
With the BlackBox installed everything works fine now! I'll definitely swap other relevant parts to OpenBuild stuff.
