For a while I've been using an Openbuilds model (Lead 1010) with a Mach3 controller and I've modelled my parts with Fusion360. Everything works great.

Now I've build a machine with a 4th axis, but without Y axis. So it's a kind of lathe but the material can rotate in steps.

    Something like this:

    LEAD Lathe

Now I'm wondering, what software can I use for CAD? I'm looking for free software, as I'm doing this as a hobby.

I've seen that for Fusion360 I need to buy an extension, if I'm correct. It's rather costly.

Any help would be much appreciated.

There are no simple free solutions that I have found for carving 3D files on a rotary which is why I went with Vcarve Desktop which makes it real easy. It is not cheap, but after watching a couple of videos I was able to easily make items with my LEAD Lathe.
