Well, you were right, of course. I played around and tested resistances and all seemed good, but the drive still went in the same direction. So I pulled the 4 pin plug near the motor and reset it making sure the connections were 100% and ... Ta Dah All is good. I'm just amazed that the drive was not jerky or hunting. Obviously there was some electrical connection issue. Thanks for your help. I can get the pan and the rest of the frame sorted now and make it all work. Compact plasma cutter on the way! Richard
