Anyone here cut or have ox plates, bought a cbeam large.. should of got an ox now trying to modify my cbeam to a custom design.
You really don't need Ox plates. You have everything you need in the C-beam XL parts kit to create a stationary bed-moveable gantry type system like the Ox. Take the Y-axis actuators, move them to the ends and roll them up on edge with the screws facing out. Take the gantry verticals, spin them 180° and attach the flat face to the Y-axis actuator plates. Finally mount the X-axis actuator beam on the back side of the gantry verticals with the screw facing toward the rear. This arrangement puts the weight of the router a little more centered over the wheels and provides better coverage of the board. The leftover end rails can be fitted between the front and back rail to support the spoils board and add some stability but you will probably need to trim a little length off. If you wish to go bigger with the Y-axis you'll need to order a couple of 1m lengths of C-beam with 1m screws to match and a few 1m lengths of extrusion to support the spoils board.
Does anyone know the height and width of the ox sideplates, when I import into fusion 360 it measures 1.5 metres high please, or even any pdf's with measurements would be helpful. C Beam user Ooznest customer Regards Rob UK
pdf attached. These are for the standard Ox which uses a 60mm X-axis gantry beam. You will need to adjust them if you wish to use the 80mm deep C-beam for the gantry.
Just did a quick test and the .SLDPRT files for the OX from the SolidWorks Ox assembly can be opened in Fusion 360.
Thank you for your prompt reply Rick that's exactly what I wanted. Moag thank you for the files but they don't seem to download at the moment. Fusion 360 is problematical at the best of times especially when it comes to importing and exporting files but I believe the 360 team are working on this. Regards RobUK
