Hello I have a LEAD 1010 machine. Everything was working well when today I tried opening the program it just does not open. Looking at the task manager I can see it appear for 1 second, be marked as suspended and it just closes. I cant see any kind of window open or anything. I have tried: Restart and Reinstall (in all kinds of combinations) Installing older versions Using a third party program to remove any residual files between installs. The program and controll work perfectly fine on a laptop just not on my Windows 10 main machine.
As its specific to that PC it may be either 1) some conflicting application (close everything, including background applications) 2) or worst case, start with a clean reinstall of Windows and all drivers up to date
I can't, but I'd imagine that might mean something to Peter. In the meantime, try Googling that exception code and see what pops up, might explain something.
Not from event viewer. But you can run OpenBuildsCONTROL.exe in a command prompt to get some logging. Exe path is in the event above, or find it in the Target field of the desktop/start menu shortcut
Thats all good, its running. It didnt quit after or you'd be back at the prompt. It sits in the system tray on intial start:
Sadly its not running. its not in the system tray or in the task manager. The event viewer also says that the program is terminated for an access violation.
I could only assume from the cropped screenshot which does not show a prompt. Please include fuller screenshots to avoid the need to guess What happens after (in the log) If it was a port conflict, you'd see an error stating so
Sorry about that. That is the entire thing though. I will be more clear now to show that: The terminal does not go back to accepting prompts even after a while when windows has already logged the error. This is all that is seen and there is no additional text. when I hit enter then command prompt allows me to enter a new command.
Much better. Lack of stuff in a log (compared to a known good start on my log) also tells a story here... So, you are missing the statusCode 200 message that comes after succesfully downloading latest firmware images. So, either CONTROL is unable to download from the internet (firewall, etc) or has a problem with permissions on that PC and not allowed to write to disc. Uninstall, reinstall, but try the "for me only" install type - as you may not have write permissions globally on the user account you login with
Tried that. Results are identical. I have also tried my best inspecting the firewall and could not find anything blocking the program. I am also the only user on this PC as an administrator. I will continue to look though.
Sorry man, time for a windows reinstall As we know it works on the other couple thousand installs out there, see GitHub Release Stats , its got to be something on that PC, and there's only so much troubleshooting you can do on one PC.
Yeah I will do once I am done with my degree (so in like 3 weeks) thank you again for all your help and continued effort.
