Hello, I've simply taken the Interface out of the box and connected the unit using the Supplied RJ11 to SL cable. All I get is a message saying Check Connection to the AUX1 Serial connector on the blackbox. Am I missing a trick here?
Did you follow all the setup steps in docs:interface:start [OpenBuilds Documentation] first Particularly the three Important Notes at the top of docs:interface:connect-blackbox-x32 [OpenBuilds Documentation] Also make sure not to skip sections 3.1, 3.2.3 and 3.3
Thanks for the reply. I believe the I had to do a firmware upgrade as per previous issues just last week so I can only assume that I am on the latest firmware. I am using an X32 blackbox. I can't get to step 3.1 as I am not getting a connection between my iPhone which is connected to the Interface wifi network and the Interface. Interestingly there is also some sort of simple video game on the screen after it fails to connect. Is that normal?
Step 3 needs step 2 to complete. Establish connection to BlackBox first to complete bootup. Only once its up and running can you continue with step 3
Yes indeed. But I have connected the interface to the BB and disconnected the Computer and I still get the message. Is there a way to check to see which firmware version is running? If this is uptodate then I may have a hardware problem with the interface box.
As it boots up it shows the version on the big logo splash screen.. V1.57 is the latest. Does the Blackbox work fine with the Computer? Just to rule out wiring etc
Ok, ok, I seemed to have been experiencing a dumb moment as I had been reading everything to do with the firmware upgrade thinking that it was referring to the Blackbox and not the Interface. Duhh! I have managed to get the firmware upgraded to 1.57. After several resets by itself (which I thought was some sort of hardware error) It now seemed to have settled down and I can control the machine with the interface. However, I cannot get the wifi interface to show up on my phone. The wifi icon on the screen is solid red but the wifi indicator to the right is blinking green. I am currently configured with the Interface connected to the black box only, the pc is disconnected from the blackbox and I can jog the machine from the interface and perform other functions on the screen. It seems to be just the wifi connection now.
Try tools and utils > Interface Settings > Forget Wifi Then try again. Make sure you have a 2.4ghz network
Yes indeed that worked and we're all up and running with the interface. Thank you for your expert support.
