Hey all, Apologies if this is addressed elsewhere, but I've had a quick search of the main forums & the resources section & don't see anything that fits the bill. Does anyone here have any experience of using the really inexpensive steppers that can be found on the usual Chinese market sites? I appreciate that it's likely to be a case of 'you gets what you pays for' but if anyone can maybe let me know how they've got on I'd really appreciate it. Cheers, Jay
Don’t forget steppersonline as well, they are all made in China, just be sure you know what you are getting, check the spec sheet... If the supplier doesn’t have a spec sheet then that is a red flag. If you are using screw drive watch out for high inductance motors.
I think you know the sort of replies you are likely to get. However, not all Chinese sites are the same. What you must do is try and get as much information as you can regarding the motors you are looking at. Apart from their strength, you want to know the wiring type. Be prepared to get any instructions or drawings, in Chinese. I would seriously wait a little longer, and save a bit more money, and buy from a reputable outlet, (like Openbuilds) and save yourself some potential headaches. Gray
