I just build my Cnc and it seems accurate.
Horizontal and vertical lines cut perfectly, but circles and some angled lines are wonky.
My suspicion is that something bad is happening when the two axes run together, but are fine separately.

    Has anyone else encountered this?

Yes, lots people have come across this - from what you have described it sounds like backlash - the motor turns, but the axis doesn't move. Show us some pics of circles with the X and Y axes labelled and we may be able to suggest the most likely causes. In the meantime, starting at the bit with the stepper motors powered pm, wiggle things looking for anything moving that shouldn't - use reasonable force.
    Alex.

You were 100% right. Both the lead screw and the nut were loose. Cuts perfectly now. Thanks!
