I'm trying to understand the configuration options for the "Laser: Vector (raster fill)" tool path in the OpenBuilds CAM Gcode Creator. I want to raster fill a simple 25 mm x 25 mm area using a serpentine tool path. CAM Gcode Creator executes the following tool path (green) which is roughly described as turn on laser and move from X0 to X1 turn off laser and move X1 to X0 move to X1 Y1 turn on laser and move X1 to X0 This results in zigzag travel with excess movement. Are there setting that would force the tool path from X0 to X1 to Y1 to X0, a true serpentine pattern? For my process, I cannot have the laser turning on and off during the fill.
Sorry, there seems to a bug currently, it is supposed to serpentine. We'll check it out and let you know once it fixed. Thanks for the report
Thanks for the quick assurance. I'm not too familiar with this stuff so didn't know if the saw tooth tool path was typical for laser raster fill. Between the hardware, controller, and software; you guy have a great product. I'll keep an eye open for the fix.
