Hello, I need to make a case for my electronics. I can make it out of plywood or aluminum. Making it out of metal and grounding the case will protect it from EMI, but is that relevant in this case? Has anyone made a controller box out of plywood and been happy with the results? Thanks!!
Wood should be fine, just make sure to properly ventilate to prevent overheating If you have a source of EMI - it makes more sense to address the source, than trying to hide everything around it behind metal boxes, filters, ferritesx, etc. Fix one source of EMI rather than 100 potential recipients of that interference (hope that makes sense) For example using a proper earthed dust hose versus adding ferrites to every cable. Simpler, more effective to deal with the thing that causes the interference in the first place
