Hi, I am new here. I have an old CNC Mogul. It utilized a UC100 Motion Controller that seems to have failed, that and/or the board after many years of service. Can I easily swap out the old technology with the new Black Box MCS X32 and 24-volt power supply bundle? I would like to mount them in the same location. My power supply is 9" x 4.5" overall and motion 7.5" x 6"overall. Thanks! motion.jpg power.jpg

Try to post datasheet (or model no, but then we have to google up a datasheet (; so easier if you do find a datasheet) so we can check if their electrical specs are suitable (Resistance, Inductance, Coil Voltage, Current)

Found this. Hard to find info. The machine is 13 years old.

The controller is a Chinese Tb6560 Stepper Motor Driver Controller that is controlled via parallel port.

The power supply is a 24V 14.6 AMP 350W Max Power Supply.

If it ran well on TB6560s it will run great on a BlackBox. It uses TB67S109s (newer chip but same manufacturer as the TB6560s = Toshiba)

I would recommend replacing the PSU with ours (just to protect your warranty - 3rd party PSUs can damage BlackBox and void warranty) and also our Limit switches (Onboard EMI filters)

    Checkout docs:blackbox-x32:start [OpenBuilds Documentation]

For 3rd party motors you'll need to ID the coils: docs:blackbox-x32:faq-identify-motor-coils [OpenBuilds Documentation]
    Xtension Limits: docs:xtensions:limits [OpenBuilds Documentation]
Recommended PSU bundle (with safety cover called a PowerCase): docs:powercase-v1.9:start [OpenBuilds Documentation]
Modern software toolchain: docs:software:overview [OpenBuilds Documentation]
    Optional Probe docs:xyzprobe:start [OpenBuilds Documentation]
