I have a friend with a Dewalt GA radial arm saw that he wants to convert to a motor actuated gantry lift system. He has access to the lead screw of the column from the bottom of the post. It's open on the bottow and the leadscrew is exposed. We were wondering if there was any scenario where you could attach a nema 34 or 42 to that leadscrew, use a motor controller, and make the gantry go up and down and hold at any given spot in between. The switch needs only be a rocker that is pushed at the top for up and at the bottom for down, nothing fancy. We will then be trying to utilize a Wixey planer DRO to establish the actual height. I believe the total travel of this gantry is under 12" but, given the blade is 14", it may be more or less. Thank you for any and all help. Paul
