Rostock at our local MakerSpace (Area515) I can join month to month. $37.50 gets me access to all the tools (including print time)
Yeah, except the guy who charged me $200.00 to print my Laurtr3k parts is also a member and prolly not owerwhelmed by me printing these for about $25.00!!! Decent group of people, and I am only one of three people checked out to use the printer, so I get tons of time.
I had something similar happen to me. I came here to build a CNC router in order to build an all aluminum Delta printer I was designing after watching Werner Berry's "BerryBot 3D" videos on youtube. It wasn’t long before I stumbled into the Delta-Six build. Now I need a 3D printer to build a 3D printer. Conclusion: A guy can never have enough tools. -Nugz
Nice, We could really use a makerspace around here (nearest one is about 120miles away) But being in a small community ( population of roughly 1,500 ) I don't know how well one would do.. So True. lol I get project side tracked easier then most and it almost always involves more / new tools. Or learning how to use those tools.

I feel that I have to answer to that Did you know that PLA/PHA is 4 times the price of PLA? Did you know too that Lautr3K is a freaking lot a parts too? I'm happy for you, you did found a place to print them yourself for cheap, specially that 25$ isn't even the price of a filament roll
Ummm...I think I should be a bit more specific. The other member I spoke of is a member of our local makerspace, NOT a member here. My parts are ABS, and If you do some research, you can see that many of the popular filament vendors claim to make their own filament, but use the same manufacturer. The price of PLA/PHA is indeed twice the price of PLA, and is by all accounts, better in the right application. We buy our ABS for about $25/KG roll. Depending on color, + or - a couple of bucks. Prints great, and no problems with crazy shaft variance. Sorry if it seemed I was faulting anyone here.
I am building mine with magnetic ends and ball bearings. How can i help? We are using the wffector and carriages from Infill3d on Thingiverse. I have magnets and theaded ball bearings on the way.
So all three carriages are assembled and running smooth, then it's just a matter of aligning/running the belts Once my CF tubs arrive the real fun will start Again dddman has come through with awesome printed parts Here's some eye candy
Well, I just found out that my lathe does not have a through hole, making it much harder to turn down these screws! Never needed it before, but now when I do... On the upside, the RobotDigg 8/20 lead screw fits the Y carriage on the Lautr3k at full length. Only need to turn the end down to 5mm for a length of 12mm.
Carbon tubes showed up yesterday, I cut them all to length and then epoxied the traxx in place on one end. I now have to build a jig in order to get the other ends in and all of them to be the same length
Ty, most of my waiting times are due to shipping wait times but in between it gives me time for other things Now that I got things in it sure is moving nicely Special thanks to dddman for all printed parts and more We've been working together on a few projects, this being the major one and it just goes to show how we have a great bunch people here. Here are some pics of an i3 style printer that again dddman and I are building. He is taking care of modding/printing and collecting all 3d parts used and I'm modding the laser DFX files so they can be milled on an OX. I will be posting the files when I'm done as a OX project in my OX AI build along with a few other fun projects My frame and progress This printer is being built out of 1/4 lime acrylic, recycled inkjet printer rails and other gathered parts from the local hardware store
Ty ! I use my used 45 helex two flute bits after a few run in aluminum. Spindle @10000 rpm and feed is 40 ipm

Yep that's it and spindle speed won't matter much in acrylic as long as your feed is fast and you keep things cool with cutting fluids "soap water in my case"
I believe they are still giving away delta 3d printer ABS part kits away on the Google delta Kossel forum free, only catch is that you have to promise to make and give two more kits away, it's like a pay it forward type of gig.
