I ran across this software today. I have played with it for an hour or two and first blush seems as easy as sketchup with some more features of the more "professional" packages. Have any of you used this before? What were your impressions? I am impressed enough to continue to try it out more and see what it has to offer. Though their website states It look like Spaceclaim to me. I haven't looked at Spaceclaim long enough to see if any important functionality is missing, DS Mechanical seems pretty capable to me. DS Mechanical offer quite a bit of tutorial stuff themselves and there's plenty of tutorial material on the web for Spaceclaim, so you can be up and running fairly quickly. E.g. spaceclaim website or youtube. Personally I hope IronCAD will partner up like Spaceclaim and RS did.
I have been using it for some time its an excellent piece of software. Its easy to use, good interface, the learning curve is short and there are lots of tutorials on youtube, and most of all its free. I have not yet tried to create anything from the RS Online resources, but once you complete the design you can create an order with a list of all the products on it and send it straight to RS Online.
Sorry I should have been clearer Designspark Mechanical is the program. I have never seen or used Spaceclaim.
Hi I'm new to this site. I've been into robots for awhile. I've used DesignSpark for about 3 years and I think it's the best free CAD app out there besides Fusion 360. I wished more people would know about it. Fusion 360 is cool but you never know when they will stop the free version. How many of you all use DesignSpark?
