Hi, I have recently built my first CNC router, LEAD 1010. For the router, I went with a Dewalt D26204K. The included collet accepts only 8mm bits but I would like to insert some 3.5mm, 4mm and 6mm bits. I would therefore think that I need an aftermarket ER chuck and collet(s). I have tried to purchase an ER8 but that was too small. Then I bought an ER16 but that was too big... So that was a bit of money down the drain... My question is: will an ER11 chuck fit? Or do any of you have a recommendation for what to use? Preferably something that can be shipped from EU og Asia. Thanks in advance!
Dewalt doesnt use the ER system. Its a propriety taper. You can use Dewalt 611 Precision-Grade Collet Kit instead
Thanks a lot for your quick reply Peter! But 89 USD?! And then comes shipping and import taxes. Not exactly a bargain... Does anybody know of a cheaper alternative?
Check AliExpress for 'Dewalt collet'. There are some hits for this search but I don't know how correct they are. For the price, though, it may be worth your while to take the plunge.
your paying for the super low runout precision machined tolerances of the parts, not the actual part. China could stamp you one that wobbles for a couple bucks, sure hehe In terms of Imports, look for a local vendor, almost everyone sells Precise Bits's stuff Precision Dewalt 611 Collet Kits Another vendor is Elaire Corporation - Dewalt Router Collets - could ask them for a list of resellers in your country too
