That is awesome, I have been looking at that project for months now, wanting to attempt it. How do you generate the files for embroidery, and what is the motion control system? Looking forward to starting on this build!

This is superb. I can't see a link to the software anywhere. Please can you provide a link (ideally source code if possible as I am a developer) - thanks.
We have a Brother sewing machine gathering dust, a set of Nema 17 steppers, several spare arduinos and a long length of aluminium extrusion begging for something to use it for - this project is ideal!

I would like to try this project and have the following questions
    1. What make and model of sewing machine did you use?
    2. Can you share the application you where running on the tablet? And where can I get a copy?
    3. Do you have the STL files available for download?

First of all, great work. could you give me some more information about the android app or make it available? I'm neophyte with arduino and having the firmware would help me a lot like having photos or diagrams of the needle sensor.
I already have an xy plotter and an old sewing machine to convert
    Thanks in advance

Sir I've also started making the same project as your but I'm stuck at the software you used for controlling the Arduino nano.
Sir could you please send us a link of the app used on tablet or any other hint Wich could be helpful for us in creating the interface.
Thanks in advance and have a happy new year

Great project! I'm determined to build something very similar. Did you document the protocol form your Android App to the controller??

I am guessing you didn't want to release your android app - or did i get that wrong??

Nice project, but it's totally useless without app. There is no point in placing such projects because no one want to build a massive paperweight. Well, another good project that will die forgotten.

Rather than insulting the builder who was kind enough to share this, you should try reading. The app is in the "files and drawings" section above. That was also mentioned earlier in this thread here: DIY Embroidery Machine V2

All the files are in the Sketchup drawing too.

    But they are not there

The ZIP file contains the Arduino program and files,The sketchup file contains an extremely detailed CAD drawing. Both of thee are GREAT and I certainly appreciate the work that went into these greatly.

BUT, try as I might I have not been able to find either the executable or the source files for the ANDROID APP.

There has clearly been a mountain of effort gone into the Android App to create it and that’s fantastic.

BUT the ANDROID app itself and the source files are nowhere to be found!!! If they are there no one in this thread has found them

I’m quite prepared to admit I’m a total cretin and they are there and I’ve missed them

If someone decides to share their designs on here (free of charge!) they decide what they want to share. Sometimes you get full details, cad files and bill of materials - sometimes you just get a concept with no development at all. Accept what is offered with good grace - sometimes the intention is to stimulate others to develop their knowledge and skills.

Totally accept that and I am certainly not complaining.

There has been confusion in this thread as there have been several questions asking where the Android program can be found and the answer has always been to point to the places where it isn’t rather than coming out and saying that that isn’t being shared - which is totally fair.

I’m happily doing the bit of reverse engineering to get the protocol to chat to the Arduino and then I’ll be working on a .net c# program ( which will be cross platform) which I shall be posting to Github.

    Wish me luck!

A great project by the way and I was and still am hugely impressed

Good luck with that! Look forward to seeing whatever you choose to share.

If you need stl files, the SketchUp file components can each be downloaded as such.

I’m really keen on building from scratch as a project of its own. I’ll try to keep an update going
