On the X32, when I'm tripping the door sensor, I can see the door light come on, but for some reason it doesn't turn the tool off. In my case the spindle speed lowers but doesn't turn off. Is there a setting for this I'm missing somewhere? Looked around for awhile but haven't found what's obvious.
Did you flash the Door firmware? Can you stop your spindle from gcode? (Tool on and Off menu in CONTROL?)
Yes, it’s the door 2/3 axis firmware. It does trigger the door light and reduces the RPMs on the spindle. But the spindle continues to move because the tool is still sending the enable voltage so it doesn’t completely stop. I can turn the spindle on/off from the tool menu in control; however not with the door alarm on because it’s basically doing a hold of some kind and nothing responds until the door is closed.
Correct, during Door grbl doesn't accept commands (could cause you to move/change states causing crashes) If you can turn it off from within the Tool On/Off menu it should also stop completely during the Door stop. Will set up a test case shortly, and double check that it does: Please provide a Grbl Settings backup for review and for use to attempt to replicate your issue
Attached is the settings backup. Note the spindle isn't using PWM (but I didn't change that default). I think the issue is that the tool enable stays on (I see this on the Blackbox too) and the voltage while it drops way down on the 0-10V still has something marginal there signaling speed. Where as tool off (M5) also stops the enable.
We currently have up to 20230501 inside CONTROL, so @vaw you can build the latest from http://svn.io-engineering.com:8080/?driver=ESP32&board=BlackBox X32
