Hi Peter, I just installed the Openbuilds 3 prong limit switches to my Blackbox controller. The switches don't appear to be recognized as when I go to troubleshooting and manually trip the switch nothing happens as all the buttons stay green. Also in the troubleshooting the hold/door is red and when I press my E-Stop button the light turns green and nothing happens as I have to press the Abort button to stop the machine. I may have that wired in reverse but not sure. Here are my settings in GRBL for the limit switches: Thanks in advance for the help. Key Parameter Value Utility $5 Invert limit pins, mask 0 $21 Hard limits enable Enable $22 Homing cycle enable Enable $23 Homing direction X Min Y Min Z Max $24 Homing locate feed rate, mm/min 100 mm/min $25 Homing search seek rate, mm/min 1000 mm/min $26 Homing switch debounce delay, milliseconds 250 ms $27 Homing switch pull-off distance, millimeters 5 mm $20 Soft limits enable Disable (Enable and Save Homing first before enabling) $130 X-axis maximum travel, millimeters 2950 mm $131 Y-axis maximum travel, millimeters 1280 mm $132 Z-axis maximum travel, millimeters 122 mm
First up, the DOOR input is not for use with Emergency Stops 2ndly - when Grbl is in DOOR ALARM state, it doesn't report Limit switch statusses etc - you can't check them in Troubleshooting, while the DOOR input is active Get the machine up and working, homing, etc first - without DOOR firmware - before you revisit that. But rather - don't do the "false safety" plan at all - get a Safety Power Tool Switch and put it between the wall and the power strip where the machine, relay, router, spindle, laser, etc plugs in - in an emergency you don't want to depend on software: YOU WANT TO CUT POWER to everything at once!
