    Hi All

    just a quick question? I currently have a Chinese ER11 500w spindle with a ws55-220s motor driver similar to this 1454EE46-B888-4F20-A412-06F56403E95B.png 500W Brushless Spindle Motor Air Cooled Spindle ER11 55MM Bracket DC 48V Machine | eBay

    im trying to wire up an emergency stop switch to this unit, I’m after bringing the spindle to a complete stop rather than just the gcode sender. I’ve searched all over for reference to wiring this up but can’t find anything.

    it may just be something simple I’ve missed but I’ve no idea.

    thanks

    Best option: Cut power. An emergency can mean many things, so an Emergency stop at the minimum should cut power (to everything = best if its before the power strip you are running your machine off).
    That way whatever goes wrong, if power is cut when you hit the e-stop, it all stops (spindle, machine, everything) - not only motion but the emergency could be a PSU on fire (;
