It is approximately 860 mm high to the top of the Z stepper, but that was me measuring it from a Sketchup drawing I found a while back. I can not see where to download it now. When I click on the CAD drawing it takes me to the normal LEAD page. You used high torque vs the normal steppers in the drawing I had, so that would be a different measurement. If your build is modified it would also change. I also did not include the rubber feet that are seen attached on the OpenBuilds product page. If it were me, and I bought the kit myself and may also build an enclosure, I would play it safe and go with 1 meter.

Why a meter? Because I had to take a series of measurements and add them up and I recently stumbled across a bunch of old report cards a results from standardized tests. My math scores were not spectacular. :)

The measurements I took off the Sketchup drawing were:

800mm from top of stepper to work surface
    19.05 mm thick work surface
    40 mm v slot
Then I rounded up to 860 mm
