Have the Lead 1010 with Blackbox, Interface and Probe. Using Vcarve and Openbuilds Control program to make the Openbuilds bit holder project with 8 different toolpaths. I set the probe to zero, went to run the program Interface gives me "Error No Letter Assigned". I also cannot connect to the wifi internet using laptop or phone, just using the flashdrive. What am I missing?
Make sure you use the correct Post: docs:software:vectric [OpenBuilds Documentation] Also make sure your Interface Firmware is up to date (v1.52) : docs:interface:firmware-update-control [OpenBuilds Documentation]
Tried a simple file with 5 numbers and 1 toolpath setting, still get the same error. This was using Vcarve program. I tested without a bit using the Hello World program from Openbuilds, worked awesome. So back to Vcarve, not seeing what I am doing wrong or what I am not doing or adding?
Just got email from Vectric, said the "FREE" program is to be used with their free files to test only. Guess that's what the problem was. Very frustrating and not knowing that. I was under the impression the Vcarve was free to use up to 24x24 for my designs... Totally sucked and a waste of my time. Know any good programs to use that is actually free and not misleading? Yes, I'll buy the Vcarve as I do like how it is, just out of budget for now since buying the Lead 1010
See docs:software:overview [OpenBuilds Documentation] OpenBuildsCAM and SketchUcam are about as free as it gets. Depends what you mainly intend doing though - for V-Carving and inlay work for example, Vectric is about the only good choice. If its more making "parts" Fusion360 is a good choice and has a limited free licence.
There is also F-engrave. I used it for awhile before buying Vcarve Desktop. It is not very intuitive, but functional for simple Vcarves. F-Engrave
