I am building my first cnc. It is a fixed gantry design with ball screw x and y. The z is a 1/2"-20 threaded rod. The question I have, is this motor and controller setup a good one. It'll probably meet your needs. That is an lpt port card. You'll need a pc with an lpt port or a usb/Ethernet interface card to place in between or just scrap it for another controller card with a usb/ethernet interface.
