Bootcamp? Running windows on a Mac? Could have unexpected consequences. Either use Windows on a PC or MacOS on the Mac.
Are you using Fusion or Parrallels, or booting directly into Windows. I have never had any issues with booting into Windows, it operates like any other intel based windows machine. I doubt he has one of the new Arm based M1 Macs, because they don't support Bootcamp yet, if ever. I have had issues using Windows within VMWare Fusion using the bootcamp partition. USB hardware abstraction layer within VMWare Fusion is crappy on the best of days. You can try passthrough (does Fusion support VMDirectpath, never tried... I have no issues with it on ESXi/Vsphere.. anyways, I am rambling). Never used Parallels so cannot help there.
Aloha And thanks for the replies, yes i am running bootcamp in a partition, i will try in on the mac side, mahalo
update: tried to prepare the usb via Mac, still same results updated control to latest version updated ft driver still looking for usb while the drive is recognized by computer also cannot connect control in Mac
Had this same issue on the M1 Mac Mini. Computer sees USB drive fine, Openbuilds Control does not. tried on my older Ibook and it worked just peachy. might be a M1 mac? or Big Sur OS issue with OpenBuilds Control? guessing here.
cool.. everything seems to work so far on the M1, well except the USB wizard. LOL Though I'm not actually using it with the CNC, more a play around while in the house getting familiar with everything.
Most of it should, but are pending moving to Electron 11 for native M1 support: Apple Silicon Support | Electron Blog
