I have been using Fusion 360 for a few years and I am pretty much self taught. I thought I had a pretty good grasp on it until I heard someone I work with suggest a Youtube series to some other people that are new to 3D printing and design. I sat down last night and did the first seven days worth of lessons and I quickly realized I had been doing a lot of things the hard way. The best part about it is that the lessons are between 7 - 20 minutes with most coming in around 10-12 minutes. So, if you are new to trying to design your own stuff, check out the following: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLrZ2zKOtC_-DR2ZkMaK3YthYLErPxCnT- Here is day 1. The 9 minute Day 7 video has really opened new doors for me designing things to be cut on the rotary axis. This took just a few minutes to design.
I'm, most likely, just like you. Self taught and doing it the hard way! I will look into these and see how cumbersome my way of doing things it!
I would be too embarrassed to list some of the ways I accomplished things that I quickly corrected after the first couple videos. The main reason I started them was so I could learn to make more organic shapes with sweeps and lofts.
Its funny. For big projects, I end up starting over several times in order to undo the bad things I did when figuring out how to do it. Especially things with joints.
