Hello, I'm attempting my first design and build of a telecaster style shaped guitar using Fusion 360. The design part has been grand and managed to generate the gcode. I uploaded the gcode to OpenBuilds control and setzero to a suitable location. I ran the Check Size button and it covered the cutting area but when I went to run the job the router just moved up the y-axis until it clicked the limit switch. Anyone got any ideas why this happened? Gcode is attached along with two photos of my setup. Thanks, Fintan
Checking the obvious questions - did you A) enable homing, B) home the machine before running the job? Also you specified G55 in your cam software - were you in G55 when you set the workplace co-ordinates system zero? - grbl controllers would default to G54 on start up. Alex.
Yea to both of those questions. I was at G54 but I got the following error: Warning: Invalid Work Coordinate System. Select WCS 1..6 in SETUPostProcess tab. Selecting default WCS1/G54. That still generated gcode but it didnt upload to openbuilds control, that's why I changed to G55. If I change the grbl controllers to G55 will that sort this out?
Just ignore the warning - it's just telling you that, as you didn't specify a wcs in the Fusion cam setup it is using the default of G54. Or, in Fusion cam set up choose a wcs of 1. Without seeing your Fusion file I can see no reason why your file wouldn't upload to OB Control with G54 set - certainly just changing to G55 in your g-code wouldn't have made a difference. You could also change to G55 in your controller before running the file if the wcs is set to G55. Alex.
