I got it figured out I needed to set the $30 for the max spindle speed. Sorry that part of the instruction confused me a bit. Thanks

    Just discovered X1 has 10volt

    IMG_4972.jpeg

I think it shouldn’t has this, not sure if it make damage for BB ? Something like this opto will helps??
Seller said that normal when stop mode 10v
Run mode 0v, its show 0.03v

No comment on 3rd party board (totally wrong anyway though, thats binary not analog)

VFD supposed to be an Input, should not have voltages present. But i do see wires hooked up - so sure the 10v isn't coming from the BB? Better to take measurements without wiring present

VFD should stop from 0 to +-3v because 3-10V = 7200-24000rpm. Set the VFD's parameters correctly! It should stop when commanded to go below 7200rpm or the windings will burn out. Should only start once commanded for over 7200rpm. Air cooled spindles should never be ran under 7200RPM and ALL VFDs provide that protection mechanism.

For an H100, quick skim of the manual says it might be F011
Low Freq Limit - set it to 120hz
    120 (min) / 400 (max) = 7200 when max is 24k

or might be F027... Starting Freq? Best to ask the VFD vendor (I am just reading a PDF manual, never had one of those), but all of them have a way to set the minimum commanded speed that will result in it spinning and anything below that will stop it.

Yes that measurement without wire connecting
X1 is for run not analog
X1=10v when stop mode, 0.03v when run mode
VI1 analog is zero, just takes from 0-10vBB32

    BB enable 3.166v after m3, 0.024v after m5

    F007 minimum frequency default 0.5
    Change it to 10hz
And added second gnd from bb to vfd

that works to stop spindle by m5
But vfd still in run mode and show (0.0somethig amps)
Not sure if that fine or no

if removing one gnd its ok when power ip vfd and bb
But after m3 ,m5 spindle spinning 260rpm and not stop

Son now with 2 gnd works to run/stop
but always run mode and few amps if not running gcode

    Analog is correct m3 s24k =24k rpm
    S12k = 11800rpm

Just want to make sure nothing hurts BB and spindle, use use isolate board , or i stick with onboard relay

Ahh I see, yeah 10v would fry the 3.3v pins on the microcontroller badly - not covered under warranty

If its the run/stop signal that board "might" work, but again, untested, 3rd party, at your own risk
It won't pass the analog 0-10v voltage though - its binary: on/off signals only
Relay is probably the better way, though again, correctly set up VFD only needs GND and 0-10v nothing else

That's correct! If you have a FWD jumper, it is always armed.

Using NO relay works good but not responding for aport
What’s if I use isolating board like this ?
    IMG_4986.png

NO relay is working ok to run and stop spindle
I’m not interested to connect analog, i like to control rpm from potentiometer

only issue is the relay not respond for aport/e stop
    Just m3/m5

yes will added e stop to stop power
But would like to be answer for abort also

Use a 2-pole E-Stop and wire the 2nd pole in series with the Run signal so hitting the E-Stop cuts that as well. Independant of the controller is better - so the estop work even when the controller is hung up.

BUT E-Stops REALLY SHOULD CUT ALL POWER - you're comment above tells me you're using the Door input or something. You might lose life, limb, property someday when you rely on software to pause in a real emergency.

    Ok,Because it’s always in run mode,that’s 10v from vfd x1 is zero
Its 10v only if i disconnect it from BB

    i don’t have physical e stop swich
I just that button in CONTROL
yes will add to cut all power
All cnc stuff connected in same power output

    Just now figured something
Because it’s always in run mode, that’s 10v from vfd x1 is zero
Its 10v only if i disconnect it from BB
So I think controller will be fine nothing to worry about Bb32, only spindle not sure if the 0.03amp hurts spindle or vfd

Doesnt matter, there's 10v present, and it will feed into the BB.

Ahh OK, well, panel mount button to stop the VFD in case of an emergency a good idea then

Can check, but if it backfeeds, BB is dead. On you that risk

Software abort would still stop a correctly set up VFD though. As it does drop the 0-10v

    Clear, thank you
Correct, just in my case i control rpm bia vfd not 0-10v

if i use it it will drop to 0
without it, its not stop NO relay

Abort is stop 0-10v, and enable become zero
But NO relay stay same close
After that send m5, no thing
Need m3 then m5 to to open the NO relay

Well goodluck - sounds like a very odd install.

Next time :) Get a Huanyang VFD
Just needs 0-10v signal. Nothing else. Min Freq and 0-10v and all works fine
You will notice we make no real mention of the Relay on the Documentation's VFD page, because all good VFDs can run without it

So do you not run a wire to the ai1? Just run the 0-10 and enable to x1?

Correct way is GND and 0-10v only, setup the VFD correctly to stop/start based on Min Freq

I couldn't agree more this is probaly the most frustrated I've ever been setting a machine up. there seems to be very little as far as what the settings should be with the h100 and obviously I have something wrong I'm going to pull the enable wire from x1 and just run the 0-10v to the ai1 and gnd to gnd

Also should my min gbrl setting be 0? Or should it be 7200 for a water cooled spindle?

Grbl Setting = 0 (as you want 0v-10v to be 0rpm-24000rpm) settings it to something else messes up your scale
The 7200 min is set on the VFD! So 0 to +-3v keeps the spindle off, only once its commanded to go over 7200 should it start up. When ramping down if you lower it below 7200 the VFD should stop it

Did you or someone finally had the h100 work on bbx32?

Damm cheap vfd is so frustrating, not speaking English and translating everything is pita.
    Thanks

I see that you have tool enable going to AI1 and 0 to 10v to ground. description for tool enable is 0 to 3.3v logic. and 0 to 10 is going to ground on vfd. would that not short out?
