Hey I am brand new at this and have Built a open builds work bee 1510 I am having two issues. one is it skipping steps on the y axis seems to be happening in the middle of the bed mostly but happens through thw y axis range not sure where to look at solving this problem. Two is part way through the cut a limit switch trips and stopps the whole program but all axis are in the middle of their movement range. Any thoughts on where to go would be greatly appreciated. Welcome. For the skipped steps, make sure your pulley isnt loose on the motor shaft and that your belts are properly tensioned. For limit switches, its more than likely EMI. Luckily you are not the first to have these issues so there's a wealth of info on the boards about all this. What controller do you have?

Hi Mav115, Did you adjust the current of your drivers? Check all the setscrews for sure, and you should turn up the current until you get good reliable motion, if the motors are not getting warm then turn it up. With the xPro make sure to have a good cooling fan blowing right on the xPro board to prevent thermal shutdowns. As for the limits you should suppress noise using small caps (pic from Estlcam setup) Cheers Gary
I have not adjusted anything on the drivers. this skippin steps is a new issue I havebeen cutting for about a month and last week i was doing some 2ft x4 ft ply wood and noticed that from my work 0 the machine was off by about 30 to 40 mm after the limit switches tripped and i sent the machine back to work 0. have checked the set screws and they are all tight. for belt tensions is there a way to make sure they are properly tensioned? many Thanks Ben
default current is about 0.8A. NEMA23s need 2.8A, High Torques need 3.0A. So unless you adjust, they will have very little torque = thus skipping Potentiometers on the board near each axis's driver Those drivers are 2.5A Max but will overheat if turned up too high too. Adjust current in between for a sweet spot where it has enough power not to skip, but still runs cool enough not to overheat. Overheat shuts down too leading to skipped steps as well
OK so for this file, the Sim got stuck with the G2/3 Arcs on the Plunge. As the sim isnt clever enough just yet to simulate arcs. In the next version i'll at least make it continue after an an "unsimulatable line" to simulate the rest.
