    Hi all.

I have been successfully able to cut a few fun jobs at home. I am using Phoenix latest controller with Chinese spindle and vfd

Till I had the machine in 12x12 inch size I never had isues. I upgraded it to 24x12 this past weekend

Other than changing rails and other hardware, I did not touch anything electronic.

Machine since than has been behaving wierd and stops anywhere it feels like . Sometimes I noticed it wold loose USB connectivity if I turn spindle on or off . So decided to connect the vfd to separate power source. power cables going to spindle are shielded with copper shroud and is properly grounded. VFD is not installed inside the controlbox either. Funny thing is that it never happened before and started only after I made the x axis longer. Machine is based off Kyo's original Sphinx

I think you may have done something in the wiring/cable area during the enlargement.
Or, is your machine working harder, now it has a bigger footprint, and overheating?
Check the airflow around the control areas and consider adding fans to help with cooling.

Very small job on mdf and control box is large with 2 120mm fans . I had very long wires before upgrade so did not have to join anything or cut.
