I am plasma cutting out plates with 6mm holes, what's the best way to mark the hole locations so I can accurately drill them out to size later. I remember reading something about not piercing but just making a mark (they mite of called it pecking) and then drilling by hand later. Does anyone know a good way to mark holes under .250" (to small to cut out with a plasma cutter) and drilled out later with drill press.

    Thanks fflen

It's not hard to do 6mm holes with a 1/8" or 3mm endmill if your program supports spiral cutting, but we've seen people use a center drill bit to mark out hole locations for later drilling.
    Cheers

I've used a 'spotting' drill for this in the past on my spindle machine, but I guessed that the question was about plasma - @fflen Can you confirm either way?

Oh right I suppose I should have known it was for plasma! With the one hint at the end
