My current setup would benefit from Homing and Probing Z at the start of my jobs. I think this would increase operational safety in my specific processes.

Is it possible to call a macro at the start of each job or would I be better off making my own version of the OpenBuilds Post Processor (for Fusion 360) that includes the commands at the start of each job? These are the steps I wish to take:

    1. Display a message with an OK box to warn the operator to clear the machining surface so the gantry won’t hit anything in step 9
    2. Find home
    3. Set all coords to 0’s
    4. Move X and Y +20mm
    5. Move Z down 20mm
    6. Probe Z to the touch off plate embedded in my wasteboard
    7. Retract an additional 20mm on Z for safe distance
    8. Run GCode Job
    9. End job and move to the back of the machine
I have already found step 9 in the post processor, however as previously mentioned on the forums my machine flags unhomed just by trying to move X and Y at the same time on the jog widget. As well as some other things such as stopping a job even if paused before hand to prevent motor movement. All which I now understand is GRBL’s safety functionality.

I don’t know if I am just trying to get the software to do more than it’s design. This seems pretty out of the standard from other member’s job tasks on the forums here.

Thanks for any advice in advance. If it’s possible and the solution is I just need more leg work on research I am more than happy to keep digging. Even if someone could point me to macro or post processor that would be so helpful.
