Good idea. Has made me think of the viability of using this sort of flooring product for carving.
Need to look into pricing, although I know it has become cheaper over the years.
Finding hard woods in the UK, at any sort of reasonable price, is like finding hens teeth.
So, one has to find the material from alternative sources, and use it for what it was not intended.
I have done similarly with plastic chopping boards from Lidls, and used them as an intermediate step from wood to aluminium as test cuts.
