Just connected my new OpenBuilds control interface, and had to use the OpenBuilds Control software to flash the firmware since the WiFi signal is extremely low for this device (BTW, this is the only device having wifi issues!). Hit the reset button at the end as instructed, and now the interface is hung on step 5/25 Insert USB drive. I've inserted and removed, and prep'd and inserted and removed the USB drive multiple times to no avail. What has gone wrong. Brand new interface received this week. It's stuck in Device Test Mode. Thank you!
was able to get past this finally. apparently a complete power down is what it takes, and it takes a LONG time to reach that point!
it's working now. once i completely removed all power from the unit, and rebooted fresh, it came right up. weird. but it's working fine now. thank you!
will do! thank you for all your help! just working out the minor kinks now. thanks to you and others helping me diagnose the stepper driver issue!
I had the exact same issue (with a working thumb drive, used with the Interface before). My firmware upgrade was over wifi. How long did you leave it off? I may be too impatient.
i ended up completely disconnecting power between the interface and controller for a few minutes. mine was upgraded using the pc as i was having issues getting the wifi working. then other things started happening, and it seems i may have had a bad unit. they sent me a new one, and this one is working nearly perfectly. the only complaint i really have about it is the file naming using the fat32 instead of the ntfs that would support long file names. i've come up with my own naming convention that gets around this, but at first it was kind of a pain to get used to. if you have any issues, just email support. they are fantastic, and will get to the root of the problem pretty easily, i'm sure.
Contact the store for a replacement, its not a firmware issue the self test helps validate the hardware, and identified an issue that allows you to get a replacement under warranty
Thanks, I already made a support ticket. That's a boomer! I don't use my LEAD that often, and only used the interface twice since I got, I finally had the time off to work on some projects and this happens, it was working fine, and the last time I used was with a thumb drive...
They'll sort you out good In the meantime you can run jobs from OpenBuildsCONTROL until the replacement arrives
