I recently upgraded my LEAD 1010 with the black box x32 and a vdf Spindle. All of that seems to be working fine. I have an older interface unit and had to order a new connection so it would connect to the new black box. I have flashed both the black box and interface with the latest firmware. When the system turns on, the interface screen shows the logo and then starts to load and always recycles and turns on. Sometime, there is a red flashing auxiliary light popping up(almsot as if there is some grounding issue or interference) and the interface will not be responsive. I have to hit the reset button on the interface and it will cycle back on. Its hit or miss if it will work. Other times one of the direction button turns yellow and wont work until i reset the interface. I have put the 3 pin jumper on the interface per the directions. prior to this it would go into a boot up loop. Now it only loops one before it turns on. Some additional information, in case its contributing... When i run my opt laser, the black box and laser seem to be sending all the appropriate info as the laser is doing its thing, but it is not burning anything. I have ensured that aspire toolpath has the laser cutting at 80% but it is not making any marks. I had none of these issues with my older black box and am seriously considering switing back to the old unit. Please help.
Combination of the older Interface (existed long before X32 around, so not as compatible as a newer one would be, as you saw in the Documentation Did you follow the Retrofit steps? Other random issues sounds EMI from the VFD. Sort out the VFD (proper earthing and shielding the 400hz 3 phase cabling) to resolve
So I swapped the x32 black box with the old one and everything worked like a charm. It booted up right away and was way more stable. I followed the instructions on retrofitting the interface for the new black box. Apparently, it is still not fully compatible. Frankly, I am a little bummed that I will need to purchase a new interface to make everything work like it should. Thanks for your input.
