Trying air cut for the OPEN BUILDS logo for 6" x 7" board. When i start the job it wants to cut about a 3'x2' logo.I've got the Black Box X32 . When the logo shows on the cutting board it shows 6"x7" . I'm very new at this also.
The check size wizard is only going to show you where the tool will go. Since the logo that you are cutting is only 3"x2", that's as far as the tool will travel (obviously relative to where the logo is going to be cut on the board). In other words, the code doesnt know and doesnt care how big your stock is. It only knows where its supposed to cut.
I understand the check size area, but after homing and setting zero ,and press the run sequence it wants to cut a 3 foot x 2 foot logo. I let it run thru the whole process in air mode.
What machine do you have? Did you select a machine profile for the controller? Did you calibrate the machine? Is there a chance that your microstepping is way off in the grbl settings causing the machine to think it is cutting the right size, but in reality it is moving 4 times as far as it is commanded? Your 6 inch side x 4 = 24 (your approximate 2 feet it is off) which is off by 4X. Microstepping can be Full, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16, 1/32...etc. Or is this the first time it has happened.
