I Have a Workbee 1050 with a 2790 blackbox. I just bought a JTech 7W Laser. A few questions: I read that I need to remove the Relay jumper in the Blackbox. Is that true? The Video that shows how to do it is not updated or at least not for the 2790 Blackbox. Please tell me or share a pic of what relay needs to be removed. Also, if I remove it and then decide I want to go back to use the router, will I need to put that Relay jumper back on? Or instead of the jumper coming off and on, can I just use a $$ command in Lightburn? If so which one? Thanks so much Mike
Yes, as mentioned in the Docs too: docs:blackbox:jumper-relay [OpenBuilds Documentation] As well as under the laser pages docs:blackbox:connect-4-wire-laser [OpenBuilds Documentation] Not needed, routers are wired via an IOT relay. See docs:blackbox:connect-dewalt-iotrelay [OpenBuilds Documentation] But do keep it safely somewhere (move it to the Coolant position for example) as someday you may have a need for it
Peter, thank you. One last question. The video is not clear on where these jumpers are because I have the 2790 but the Blackbox in the video looks different. The video looks like a single row of maybe 5 pins and my 2790 has 2 rows of maybe 5.
Refer the docs linked above. Open the top lid, look on the Brains board. Easy to see them. Even without documentation the labels are printed right on the board
So the jumper I have installed in the coolant location for air cooling can stay when using the laser? This was a question I wasn't clear about that was holding up me buying the Jtech kit. I get I still have to change firmware back and forth, but not having to open the BB everytime I switch would be great.
