I added a jtech 7W laser to my 1515. The laser works fine when I'm controlling the machine with my laptop but when I switch to the interface and go to the laser control option I can not turn on/ off the laser to zero it before running the file. It will run the file no issue but I have to eyeball the location of the zero. Any one here had this issue and know how to fix it?
Then Home · gnea/grbl Wiki would definately be beneficial reading $32 Laser Mode is discussed here: Grbl v1.1 Laser Mode · gnea/grbl Wiki $30 is here: Grbl v1.1 Configuration · gnea/grbl Wiki Interface > Tools and Utils > Edit Grbl Profile and check that you have Laser Mode on, and the $1000 (Max RPM) is set to the default value of 1000
So I went in the interface menu and followed your instructions. Laser mode is On and the Max Rpm is set at 1000. Again I can manually turn On the laser with the laptop(OpenBuilds control software) but not with the interface. One thing I noticed is that in the laptop you have the choice to choose the laser output power. I tried 1% and I can't see the laser so I use 5% to zero it. In my interface the power is set at 2% and it doesn't give me a way to change it. Couldn't be that it is turning On but at 2% power I just don't see it? Is there a way to change the power output in the interface?
Its possible yes, that your laser has a low quality driver that doesnt turn on that low. Test it on the PC side by running a test job at 2% power?
