Does any one have a line on some gcode to help focus a laser by running a series of tests using parallel lines and differing power levels?

You just need one line - and a test piece at an angle. Cut the line, find the narrowest spot, position laser right above this point and measure the distance - that is the perfect focal length. Use that measurement to cut yourself a measuring spacer of sorts you can place between the workpiece and laser, when you adjust the laser height

Mine focuses at exactly the distance of a spray paint can lid (top to bottom). That made life easy...and colorful.
