    Hi all,

    I have a 6W laser so I'm thinking the thinnest sheet of aluminum would do the trick. I can't even mark aluminum foil.
    But in the event that I want to change my laser. Is there a chart of laser power vs material+thickness that is required to absorb all the heat?

    something like (I'm making this up)
    10W = aluminum 2mm
    100W = titanium 1ft

    As in a backing behind your cuts, to protect the table?
    Aluminum can cause unwanted, or worse, dangerous, reflections. Avoid metallic or reflective surfaces underneath
    I would recommend a terracotta tile, or flipped over ceramic tile (again the glazed side can cause dangerous reflections)
    Fireproof, durable, super cheap from any home store, and no reflections
