I have a small LEAD 1010 (40 wide, 20 deep) that sits on a torsion box. I am wondering if it would be okay to lay the center 2040 beams flat to drop the spoiler board down. I would like to make a 2 layer spoiler board with 12mm baltic birch, t tracks and 1/2 or 3/4 MDF replacable strips as the top layer. I am just not sure if placing the 2040 center beams will compromise the frame rigidity too much (especially the front and rear 2040s). Thanks!

If it's on a torsion box you should be able to fix the machine down without distorting it. Lots of people have either lowered or even removed the spoilboard supports from the rather similar workbee frame, so I don't see any issues with laying it flat.
