My first Cnc build. I’ve just been doing simple carvings and cut outs along with the tutorials. I would like to know what feed rate everyone is using with the 1/32 tapered ball nose while carving?

I would say you could run it fairly fast since you are probably doing a small stepover for carving. I have never used one that small before. For a 2mm ball nose endmill I was running it at 4000mm/min with a 10% stepover as my finishing pass. I bet it could handle that speed, but maybe play it safe and try 2500-3000mm/min first.

    Thanks, I’ll try that speed!
