Hey all, I assembled my lead 1515... When installing the lead screw acme into the nut block, it was pretty hard to screw, had to use glove to be able to have a good grip... I told myself, bah it should be ok... But assembling is now complete and well, the Y2 motor can't even turn because of the stiffness... Did I misplaced them? Not on the good side? etc... I contacted my reseller about this, waiting for new piece but if anyone know what is wrong... I'm guess that threads were offset when I first try to put the leadscrew... Also, what would be the best way to replace the nut block without dissembling everything? That kind of work is not my strong suit so... Thanks for your help/input!
Sometimes they are tight due to machining tolerances. Spray some dry silicone lube on the screws, disconnect the motor (important!) and attach a drill to one end. Run it back and forth to break it in.
Thanks! I will test it tomorrow morning! I don't have that product on hand eheh Kinda a pita to disassemble this though... Would a woodworking lubricant work for that purpose or I'm better use the dry silicone ?
You dont have to disassemble. You need to disconnect the motor wires from the controller. If you dont, there's a high possibility that you will fry the driver. Even when the there's no power to the controller. When I had to do it a few weeks ago, I even loosened the motor shaft coupler. Yes, dry. You dont want chips and dust to stick to the screw or gum up the nut block.
worked perfectly with the woodworking stuff not a greasy product so... Gave a few in and out and works like a charm! finally! Thanks again!
the woodworking stuff is not greasy, do not stick to wood and so on. You can even paint, oil and so on on it.
