Hello, I cannot get my lead screw to turn into the nuplock on my X axis. One side went in fine. The other side will not go in. It almost seems like the threads are not right or the hole is too small. Any suggestions?
They can be a little tight (can loosen up if you chuck leadscrew in a drill and run the nutblock up and down a couple times) so I guess the question is Is it possible to get it in at all? If not http://support.openbuilds.com/support/home should be able to assist with replacing them if they are faulty
Thanks Peter. That definitely helped but I am still concerned. It is still very stiff and hard to turn by hand. I am assuming that I need to call and get a replacement nutlocks..Is that what you would recommend or will it get better as I use it?
I would still recommend the method of wearing them in by running them up and down a couple times by drill (rather than putting those forces on steppers, 5-10 times with a drill will do!) : it will help it bed in and have a nice backlash-free fit. Oh, and is it the anti-backlash nuts, or regular nuts? If its the anti backlash ones, keep them loose while wearing them in. You can also use some silicon lubricant (not oil!)
