Just finished my 1010 build, verified all connections are correct. Drove gantry to limit switch and it crushed it. None of the switches limit movement. LED lights up. What is the issue?
1) Did you test the switches (safely, by hand) in the Troubleshooting tab first? Making sure they all work and also that the correct axis lights up (to make sure no accidental X into Z, etc mistakes made its way in) 2) Did you enable Hard Limits in Grbl Settings?
If you are using OpenBuilds Control, you change the $21 value to $21=1 in the GRBL Settings. Grbl v1.1 Configuration · gnea/grbl Wiki
Next to the machine selection, flip the Limit Switches Installed switch to the ON position (it enables Homing and Hard Limits for you in the section below). Save and Reset when Prompted
went into tools menu, set hard limit to on.... it works thanks. Crushed a switch in this little exercise. Good thing Openbuilds sells more.
limits working now but the Blk Box is not responding properly. I boot wth current faults despite no jogging. I have adjusted current countless times to no avail. I have verified via continuity test all connections are correct. Bottom line is Blk Box is non functional... requesting RMA
Peter, as the sage of Openbuilds, please tell me what the default settings should be for the cnc 1010. in an effort to t-shoot, I loosened the flex collar from the threaded rod to observe motor response. Turned sys on, motors either no responsive or I get random array of over current faults. Bummed.
Go into the grbl settings tab and select the Lead 1010 profile. Save. But sounds like you need a replacement.
