What disadvantages exist to making the x axis 1500mm to the y at 1000mm? Essentially flipping the 1510 axis? The idea is to have a 48” cutting capability with the ability to cut a full sheet of plywood in 3-4 sections. Nearly have the 1510 workbee complete but ordered some 2040 and could easily make it 1015
There would be more flex in the X axis which can affect accuracy in cutting some materials. But, if it is for cutting wood, it may not be to much of an issue if you take the lessened rigidity into account (ie. cutting slower). A lot of people have made an X axis of 1500mm for cutting larger wood sheet goods. You would have to make modifications though.
